Marathon Promoting Environmental Awareness and Healthy Living
St. Charles College of Arts and Science, Eraiyur, organized a Marathon on 11 September 2026 under the theme “Avoid Plastic – Reduce • Recycle • Reuse” to promote environmental awareness, physical fitness, and a drug-free society.
A total of 235 students, comprising 96 boys and 139 girls, enthusiastically participated in the event, with valuable support from 40 police personnel. The Boys' Marathon started from Naripalayam, while the Girls' Marathon commenced from Eraiyurpalayam, and both concluded at the college campus.
The Boys' Marathon was flagged off by Mr. P. Rajavel, DMK Union Council Chairman and Union Secretary. The Girls' Marathon was flagged off by Mrs. Saraswathi, Police Inspector, Elavanasurakottai Police Station, along with Rev. Sr. Dr. Amali Anbarasi, SCB, Secretary of the College.

The event was conducted under the guidance of the college management, including the Secretary, Principal, Academic Coordinator, and College Convent Administrator. Special appreciation was extended to the faculty members and students who worked tirelessly to prepare and serve food for all participants.
The programme successfully promoted environmental responsibility, healthy living, teamwork, and the message of building a greener, healthier, and drug-free society.
