St. Charles College of Arts and Science, a premier Catholic institution was established in 2019 by Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo, Eastern Province in Eraiyur, Ulundurpet TK, Kallakurichi Dist. Arch Bishop Most. Rev. Dr. Antony Anandarayar blessed the College and said that it was his dream to have a College to empower the students in and around Eraiyur and it has become a reality through St. Charles College. It is affiliated to Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar. As a Christian Minority College it imparts liberal education of ethic and moral character to students of all creeds to develop them intellectually sharp and emotionally balanced. To realize this vision, students’ interest are assessed and accordingly opportunities are provided to shape them and fashion them as responsible and useful citizens who imbibe the motto of the College. “ Educate → Enlighten → Empower “
We obtained NOC order from Tamil Nadu Government on 29th August 2019. The approval to start the classes for the academic year 2019 – 2020 was granted by Thiruvalluvar University on 9th September 2019. With the blessing of our lady of Guadalupe, we started the classes with 47 girl students who were simple, sincere and were eager to learn from the staff with great hopes. A small and humble beginning with great confidence in the Lord St. Charles College will become a temple of higher learning in this rural area. B.Sc Mathematics, B.Com, B.Sc Computer Science and B.A English Literature were the four UG degree courses to begin with.
St.Charles College of Arts and Science for Women was converted to St.Charles College of Arts and Science in the academic year 2020 – 2021 in accordance to the need of the local rural boys and their parents. Our College is affiliated to Annamalai University in the year 2021 – 2022. At Present Nine UG courses Offered BA Tamil, BA English, B.Sc Mathematics, B.Sc Physics, B.Sc Chemistry, B.com, BBA, BCA, B.Sc Computer Science.
